Pet Friendly Beaches
Dogs are permitted on the following beaches:
- Sharpes Beach, Skennars Head - leash required
- Angels Beach, East Ballina - leash required
- Ballina Spit - leash required
- Seven Mile Beach, Lennox Head (North of Lake Ainsworth) - effective control
- Patches Beach, South Ballina (500m North and 500m South of access road) - effective control
Dogs are prohibited on all other beaches in the Ballina Shire.
In addition to the beaches above, there are three designated parkland areas within Ballina Shire where you can exercise your dog off leash:
- Rear of Bicentennial Gardens, Ballina
- Compton Drive, East Ballina
- Gap Road, Alstonville
