Duck Creek Film Society Movie Night – El 47

Enjoy an evening of film, food and live music as the Duck Creek Film Society presents the award-winning Spanish film El 47 at Alstonville Public School.

Set in 1978, El 47 tells the remarkable true story of a grassroots neighbourhood movement in Barcelona’s Torre Baró district. Facing poor living conditions and government neglect, the community bands together to fight peacefully for change — a story that’s captured hearts across Spain and won five Goya Awards.

Before the screening, enjoy live music from local saxophone band The Sax Maniacs, performing a lively mix of jazz and contemporary tunes. The Alstonville school parent group will be serving delicious finger foods, cakes, and drinks for purchase — all supporting the local school community.

Tickets: As a film society, screenings are available to members only. Purchasing a ticket provides a Duck Creek Film Society membership and entry to this event. Tickets can be purchased via Humanitix or at the door.

Gather your friends for a relaxed night on the plateau — great food, local music, a powerful story, and a shared love of film.
