ReWear Ballina Workshop: Creative Visible Mending
Discover the beauty in imperfection at this ReWear Ballina workshop, hosted by Ballina Shire Council and led by local maker Corinne Wilson.
In this three-hour hands-on session, beginners will explore the art of visible mending — a creative, sustainable approach to repairing clothing that celebrates flaws instead of hiding them. Participants will learn how to turn holes, tears, and worn spots into striking design features that tell a story and give their garments new life.
Drawing on her 18 years of sewing and upcycling experience, Corinne will guide attendees through a variety of mending techniques designed to enhance textiles while reducing waste. This workshop offers more than just practical skills — it’s a gentle step into a movement that values creativity, mindfulness, and sustainability, one stitch at a time.
Participants are encouraged to bring up to two garments they’d like to mend. All other materials will be provided.
Small group setting with a maximum of 10 participants. Adults only (18+)
