ReWear Ballina Workshop: Get Thready – Visible Mending
Visitors and locals are invited to roll up their sleeves and get creative at this hands-on ReWear Ballina workshop, hosted by Ballina Shire Council and led by local creative Bec Massey.
Over an engaging 2.5-hour beginner-friendly session, participants will discover the art of visible mending — a fun, sustainable way to repair and personalise clothing while reducing textile waste. Using simple hand-sewing techniques, guests will learn how to stitch, patch, and embellish garments to give them a second life and a unique story to tell.
Participants are encouraged to bring along one or two items of clothing in need of mending, while all materials and tools will be provided. It’s the perfect opportunity to transform worn favourites into wearable works of art, surrounded by a welcoming and creative community.
Small group setting with a maximum of 10 participants. Adults only (18+)
All materials provided (participants to bring one to two garments to mend)
Perfect for those looking to learn new skills, meet like-minded makers, and connect with Ballina’s creative community, this workshop is a wonderful way to make sustainability stylish — one stitch at a time.
