Ballina Public Art – Wave Mural

Adding a splash of colour and creativity to the Lennox Head Skate Park, the Wave Mural is a vibrant acrylic artwork inspired by local youth stories and the spirit of coastal life.

The mural captures a playful and heartwarming tale shared during the COVID lockdown — the story of a young local who befriended an octopus in a nearby rockpool, teaching it to “high five.” This uplifting narrative of curiosity, connection, and resilience has been brought to life through bold brushwork and flowing oceanic forms, reflecting the joy and imagination that thrive within the Lennox community.

The Wave Mural celebrates storytelling through art, turning the skate park into a place where sea, surf, and creativity meet.
