Aurum Mead is the home of Modern Honey Mead – a world-first, premium wine alternative handcrafted in the Northern Rivers. Founded by French-born winemaker and brewer Louis Costa, Aurum transforms rare Australian honeys and native botanicals into elegant still, sparkling and vintage wines, with no grapes, no added sugar, and no compromise on taste.

Inspired by ancient mead-making traditions and refined through modern winemaking techniques, each Aurum mead is small-batch, dry, and beautifully complex – a far cry from the sweet, syrupy meads of old. These are wines designed to rival fine champagne and classic varietals, with styles reminiscent of blanc de blancs, sauvignon blanc, chardonnay, and rosé – plus experimental red fruit blends, dessert meads, Pet Nats and more.

Crafted for health-conscious consumers, Aurum meads are preservative-free, naturally lower in alcohol, and made with a deep respect for the environment. Every bottle is a celebration of place, sustainability, and innovative winemaking.
