Aurum Pop-Up Wine and Canape Experience

Discover Aurum – Australia’s award-winning modern honey wine – at the exclusive pop-up cellar door in the charming village of Newrybar. Nestled in the heritage Newrybar Hall, this is a rare opportunity to taste an innovative new style of wine that is taking the country by storm.

Aurum’s small-batch wines are handcrafted using rare, locally sourced honeys from the Byron hinterland and the Northern Rivers region. Unlike traditional meads, Aurum’s modern honey wines are dry, elegant, and refreshingly unique — they’ve even fooled expert sommeliers in blind tastings!

Guests can join for a guided tasting of six wines, from sparkling to dry still reds, whites and roses, to semi-sweet dessert wines, each paired with a plate of curated canapés by Michelin-starred chef Anthony Hamon. Visitors will discover flavour profiles unlike anything they’ve tried before — floral, mineral, vibrant and clean — with none of the negative aftereffects of conventional wine (read: no hangover!)

Guests also enjoy substantial discounts off all bottles purchased at the cellar door and can also purchase Aurum’s pure medicinal-grade Manuka honeys.

Whether one drops in for a quick tasting or books a long group table for a relaxed experience, it’s the perfect weekend outing in the Byron hinterland.
