Welcome to Teven & Tintenbar
Scenic, winding roads and lush natural beauty make this part of the hinterland a special place to explore. Just 10 minutes from Ballina, the charming hamlets of Teven and Tintenbar are full of hidden surprises.
You'll find leafy tree tunnels, roadside farm gate stalls, and one of the shire’s most iconic natural attractions, Killen Falls.

Naturally Local
Wind your way through the picturesque hinterland along country roads like Friday Hut Road, Fernleigh Road and Wardell Road, where you'll find great little farm gate stalls. It’s the perfect way to stock up on fresh, seasonal produce straight from the source - think citrus, avocados, ginger and local macadamias.

Bet you didn’t know
Teven Valley Golf Course was designed by the legendary Craig Parry and is known for its immaculate playing surfaces, strategic hazards, and overall fun and challenging design.
Tucked away in the stunning Ballina hinterland, the 9 hole course is bordered by remnant rainforest and crossed by platypus-inhabited creeks.

Don't miss
Tintenbar Up Front - a vibrant, community-run performance night held monthly at the Tintenbar Hall. Showcasing local musicians, poets, comedians and storytellers, it’s a welcoming space for creativity and connection. Bring a plate and enjoy the vibe.

Discover Killen Falls
Tucked into the lush hinterland near Tintenbar, Killen Falls is surrounded by dense foliage draped over damp rock walls, the sound of the crashing waterfall echoes through this tranquil natural amphitheatre.
The short walk to the viewing platform is approximately 660 metres return and offers sweeping views over the falls from above. For those seeking a closer experience, the walk to the base of the falls is a one-kilometre return trail from the car park.
Swimming is not recommended due to variable water quality and the need to protect local wildlife. Parking at the site is very limited and not suitable for caravans, motorhomes or large vehicles.
