Made from sandstone, blackbutt timber, copper, and concrete, the piece invites both contemplation and interaction — serving as a engaging sculpture that offers a space for play, meditation or gathering for families and children.

Celebrating the local green sea turtle, a species often seen in the nearby coastal waters, the artwork symbolises the connection between land and sea, and the delicate balance of the marine environment that defines Lennox Head. Charlotte Haywood is an interdisciplinary artist and master weaver with over two decades of experience across a broad range of creative industries. Her research-led, community-engaged practice explores narratives of coexistence, combining chromatic design with nature-based approaches and ecological research. Haywood is committed to developing site-specific responses through creative collaboration and meaningful community engagement.

Edward Horne is a practising artist with over 30 years of experience. He specialises in design consultancy, fabrication, realisation and installation for the public realm, delivering site-specific public art and design commissions for individuals and organisations. Known as a provocateur, educator and innovator, Horne explores contemporary applications of ancient architectural materials.
