Where are the public dump points in Ballina?

If you’re travelling with a caravan or RV, Ballina offers a few convenient options for disposing of waste:

• Free Dump Point:
  Head to the BP Highway Service Centre in West Ballina, right where the Bruxner and Pacific Highways meet. It’s open 24/7 and free to use.
• Paid Dump Points:
  • Ballina Waterfront Village & Tourist Park (southern entry to Ballina) offers dump point access for a small fee.
  • Reflections Holiday Park Ballina (in the heart of the CBD) also provides dump point services for a fee — perfect if you’re staying nearby or exploring the town centre.

The elected Council has debated the provision of free camping in the Ballina Shire on a number of occasions and the position of Council has constantly been not to provide these facilities due to the large number of privately owned caravan parks in the Shire. The preference of Council is to encourage visitors to support approved accommodation providers who have invested in our community.

It is acknowledged that other businesses benefit from the provision of free camping however on balance the elected Council has determined that the best outcome for our community is to support the existing accommodation providers.

The Ballina Coast & Hinterland is blessed with plenty of Caravan, Holiday & Tent Parks with prime positions close to beaches, rivers and bays.

If you’re travelling with a large vehicle or caravan, there are several convenient parking options:

Ballina CBD:

• Behind the Ballina Visitor Information Centre at 6 River St

• Opposite the Ballina Waterslides at 4 River St – parallel to River St in from of Reflections Holiday Park Ballina, just a short walk from the Visitor Centre and town centre

Ballina Fair & Ballina Central Shopping Centres:

• Fox Street near Coles & Ballina Fair Shopping Centre, offering easy access to shops and cafes in front of residential houses.

You may also park anywhere there are no signs prohibiting it. Remember, yellow solid lines along the curb indicate ‘no stopping’ zones and parking is not permitted there.
