Australian Minister for Trade and Tourism Don Farrell this week led a Tourism Jobs Summit in Canberra to discuss ideas for addressing workforce challenges in the visitor economy. Some of the key actions identified were reforming the migration program; encouraging people with a disability and those on an Age Pension into the workforce; incentivising employers to improve on-the-job training; and promoting tourism as a career of choice.
