The  2024 Ballina Shire Australia Day Ceremony  will be held at the Lennox Head Cultural Centre on Friday 26 January 2024, from 9am. The ceremony will start with a Welcome to Country by Bundjalung elder Aunty Julia Paden, followed by a special citizenship ceremony welcoming 18 new Australian citizens to the area. The event will also feature the much-anticipated Ballina Shire Australia Day Awards.  

For some family fun this Friday the Ballina RSL  Australia Day Free Kids Fishing Competition  is on again!  

Registration from 7.45am – last weigh in 11am there will be a free sausage sizzle & popper from 1.30 with Award presentation in The Auditorium from 2pm. 0 to 16 years of age. Children must be accompanied by an adult. 

On Saturday drop in and see  Creative Artisans Gallery artists of the month - Braidin Dasnov and Peter Mcnamara  this month Gallery is proudly shining a spotlight on local artists; Braidin Dasnov, who is a Lino print artist and Peter McNamara a jewelry maker. 

For something a little different on Saturday join  Japanese Pop Up Event Sunset Picnic  at Lake Ainsworth Lennox Head. This is an Interactive experience with Japanese Food + Live Music and Dance participatory entertainment. 

Bring your Picnic blanket or camp chair and Eski, Doors open at 4:00pm, until 8:00pm. 

 On Sunday Join Wardell CORE for a  Songwriters Workshop,  this is an amazing opportunity for all budding songwriters. This will be hosted by Alana Joy Wilkinson, Australian folk music singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist in an interactive Q&A style workshop that explores ways to craft life's experiences into song. 

To finish off your weekend, we have  Seafood Sunday & Spritz at Shelly Beach Cafe  where you can treat yourself with their enticing signature seafood platter for two, accompanied by complimentary Aperol Spritz – all for just $90.
