Laid-back Lennox Head is a leisurely (and very scenic) 10 minute drive north of Ballina. It is a mecca among surfers and its famous right hand break - Lennox Point - is one of the top ten surf breaks in Australia.

Not a surfer? Does not matter, the elevated panoramic views over the township and beyond to Cape Byron are well worth stopping for - or better yet, set up a picnic rug and take in the atmosphere. Lennox Headland offers a coastal walking track from the township of Lennox Head to southern beaches. The Lennox Head National Surf Reserve stretches from Flat Rock in the south to the Lennox Head/Alstonville Surf Club in the north.

Along the main street you'll find plenty of boutiques and retail shops and some of the best cafes and restaurants in the Northern Rivers.

Pack a picnic lunch (or drop in to the local beachfront kiosk) and enjoy the afternoon at Lake Ainsworth. This stunning fresh water tea tree stained lake is the perfect place for stand up paddleboarding, kayaking or simply a refreshing swim. Popular in summer - many like to take a dip in the ocean across the road then refresh in the lake afterwards....

Your quintessential coastal town that has everything - great food, great swimming and great shopping!
