Looking for a meaningful way to mark National Tree Day? Step into the ancient beauty of the Hoop Pine Forest and connect with nature on a guided walk led by the knowledgeable and passionate Trudi.
This immersive experience kicks off from the Visitor’s Centre at 9:45am, with the walk starting at 10am sharp. You’ll meander up a medium-grade incline on an unpaved path, learning about the fascinating history of the majestic Hoop Pine – a species with roots that go back to Gondwana (yes, really).
At the top, wander mindfully through the forest labyrinth and ring the bell – a gentle ritual to honour nature and still the soul.
What to bring: Sturdy shoes, Hat, long sleeves and long pants
Cash ($5 for adults, kids free; gold coin donation appreciated)
Your curiosity and love of trees!
After the walk, enjoy a cuppa and morning tea with the wonderful volunteers from Friends of LRBG. Greeting cards will also be available – 12 for just $10.
Every dollar supports the Friends of the Lismore Rainforest Botanic Gardens – a not-for-profit group doing incredible things for our natural world.
Nature, community, conversation – it’s all happening under the canopy. Don’t miss this serene Sunday experience!
