Step aside, grapes, there’s a new vintage in town. Each Saturday, experience a world-first innovation in winemaking, crafted right here in the Ballina Hinterland.

AURUM, the award-winning local winery, is opening its doors for a special one-day tasting event at Newrybar Hall. Their premium modern dry wines are made entirely from local Northern Rivers honey and before you ask, no, they’re not sweet. These are sophisticated, complex wines designed for dry palates and curious minds.
No grapes. No headaches. No hangovers. Just beautifully balanced, naturally crafted wines that rival the best traditional bottles but with a lighter footprint and a cleaner finish.
Fresh from being named ‘Champion Show Mead’ at the Australian National Mead Awards and earning a spot in the AFR’s ‘Top 20 Drinks of 2024’, AURUM is making waves in the world of wine. Now’s your chance to taste the future.

Aurum crafts award-winning dry honey wines, made locally in the Northern Rivers. These elegant wines have been turning heads for their flavour, finesse and eco-friendly credentials. Think classic wine and sparkling - but more sustainable, naturally made, and better for you.

This is a fantastic wine experience, guided by Aurum's winemaker Louis Costa.

Wine tastings start from just $5 (FREE with any purchase of a bottle of wine or Manuka Honey), and for the full experience, you can add a plate of 6 Michelin-curated canapes for $25 - perfect for a light hinterland lunch.
