Two-day workshop | All experience levels welcome

Discover the meditative magic of natural fibre weaving in this restorative weekend workshop hosted by the Northern Rivers Community Gallery. Led by local weaving collective Jugan Dandii – Nyangbal, Bundjalung woman Aunty Tania Marlowe and fibre artist/educator Debra Cole – participants will explore the free-form technique of random weave using foraged materials straight from the garden or bush.

Across two creative and calming days, attendees will learn to:

Collect and prepare natural fibres

Experiment with various weaving techniques

Craft their own decorative or functional pieces – from baskets and vessels to sculptural forms and even light shades

Jugan Dandii have spent over a decade weaving creativity, wellbeing, and cultural connection into communities across the Northern Rivers. Their workshops celebrate not only art, but country, culture, and the healing power of hands-on making.

All tools and materials are provided. No prior weaving experience is necessary – just bring your curiosity and a willingness to get your hands delightfully tangled in nature.
